The Vatican and a Slippery Camera

The Vatican deserves its own post because a) it’s technically a different country and b) I have so many photos! We reserved a whole day to visit the Vatican Museum (where we skipped the line. yay!) and St. Peter’s Basilica. Both are enormous and actually not attached to each other (so guess who did the line up for St. Peter’s twice).

We started off with the Vatican Museum, where we were packed like sardines in the first few rooms. It got a little better as we progressed, probably because many tour groups took the short route to the Sistine Chapel, while we took the scenic route. It’s really an amazing place; each room is decorated in a different style, reflecting the tastes of the era and the pope that added on to it.
