Our second full day in Rome was jam packed with the usual must-see sights and a few out of the way ones.
The first stop was the Santa Maria degli Angeli Church, which was built on the site of ancient Roman baths. Judging from the ugly exterior, you would never guess how stunning it is on the inside. What makes this church special is that it has a meridian line, which is basically a calendar. A hole in the ceilings lets in a ray of light around noon each day, which shifts from one wall to another based on the time of the year.
