Paris in February Part 2

Except for the view of Notre Dame Cathedral (above), this post is a mix of all the random/beautiful/fun things that I found while wandering around Paris. Why only a side of Notre Dame, you ask? Well, the cathedral’s bells were taken down for restoration and were on display and for some reason, there was a giant structure that served as a ramp and a set of stairs (for the winding lineup). It’s also used to make sure that you can’t get a nice photo of the front of the cathedral. Oh well, I hope I get better luck in the summer.

Since tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, this seemed like a good first photo to show. There are a few bridges in Paris, like this one, where couples write their names on a lock and then throw the key into the river (I would LOVE to see someone one day with a lock cutter after a breakup on that bridge).

Another lovely site is the Luxembourg Gardens, which is not so pretty in February, but the fountain and palace (which houses the Senate) are still beautiful.

They also seem to offer pony rides inside the gardens.

Paris France cat

This is a French cartoon character and this is actually one of those electric rides for kids, although the positioning of the character is a bit awkward (hence why my friend didn’t want to sit on it for a photo)…
